DeltaTek Global receives U.S. patent for its deepwater cement hydration technology
Well construction expert DeltaTek Global announced its QuikCure庐 technology has received a U.S patent, confirming the unique attributes and technical make-up of the company鈥檚 rapid cement hydration offering.
Already widely used globally, this new U.S. patent recognizes the novelty and innovation of QuikCure, which allows operators in deepwater basins, including the Gulf of Mexico, to save rig time and improve efficiency for cementing operations.聽
DeltaTek鈥檚 QuikCure is the engineered process of circulating a heated fluid inside the casing after cement slurry placement to elevate the temperature of the cement setting environment, thus accelerating early compressive strength development and reducing waiting on cement (WOC) time.聽
鈥淲e at DeltaTek Global are proud to have earned this new patent in the U.S.,鈥 said Tyler Reynolds, General Manager 鈥 Americas for DeltaTek Global. 鈥淭his patent award underscores that our technology is unique in the industry. The genius of QuikCure is really in the simplicity of its design, which we have proven in many regions of the world--including with a deepwater operator in the Gulf of Mexico--to deliver Ultimate Cement Placement and improve cycle time for our customers.鈥
QuikCure is a proven technology, recently having a record-breaking deployment in the Gulf of Mexico for PETRONAS. DeltaTek will be presenting a technical paper on the successful implementation of QuikCure as a deepwater solution with PETRONAS and Blade Energy Partners at the SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE) this October.
Launched in 2015, DeltaTek鈥檚 innovative technology portfolio, including SeaCure庐 and ArticuLock庐, originated in response to the growing requirement for simple, cost-saving and value-adding services for subsea well construction projects. These ground-breaking technologies allow operators to eliminate various risks during well construction as well as provide substantial rig time savings.
